Review by Irene Moolhuysen
Me and my sister brought Rogers a little gift and this time we knew the stage manager... lucky me! My friend brought the gift and came back with a piece of paper with a little note and all their autographs on it. He'd also taken a photo with Shannon, when Shannon was just busy putting some tape over his nipples, ha ha :-). The show started and again I was right in front of the stage. Shannon had cut his hair of this time and he was wearing a hat. His voice was really raw, really beautiful. This time Blind Melon played a lot of songs from 'soup' and most of the songs were a bit different from the album versions, which was really cool. Shannon talked a lot more to the audience which made it more personal and he looked straight at me again a couple of times! I danced my ass off, it was great, I've never felt more love for a band ever. They were going to do a "sign my cd" session, and after waiting for over an hour, they cancelled because another band was delayed :( I never thought this was going to be my last BM show, just shortly after he died and it broke my heart into a thousand pieces and it still makes me cry sometimes. I'm greatful for having seen them twice and Shannon will always be in my heart.
A pic of Shannon and my Friend Guus, right before they went up on stage.
